Everyone wants to have amazing wedding photos, so after several years of photographing beautiful weddings of all shapes and sizes I decided to get a list together of some tips that will help you make your wedding photos the best they can possibly be!!
This subject has been going round in social media a lot recently, should you or should you not have an unplugged wedding?! I must say as a wedding photographer I am a big advocate of unplugged weddings. Your wedding photographer is there to capture your day to the best of their ability and no matter how much your guests will intend not to spoil any of your photos, inevitably lots of iPhone and (my pet hate) iPad screens in your wedding photos is definitely not going to make them any better.
Normally, guests will get an opportunity at the end of the ceremony to take some photos of you, and hopefully that will be enough to keep everyone happy! Remember to be tactful, your wedding guests are, for the most part, your closest family and friends. The last thing you want to do is offend people who are so excited about your wedding they want to take lots and lots of photos of it! To help you the registrar or vicar will normally be happy to announce the photo policy to your guests, and there are also some beautiful signs you can purchase now to let everyone know what you have decided in regards to guest photography and social media.
I think most couples should definitely consider an "unplugged wedding" and also a "no sharing on social media until the next day" policy, then photos can be vetted as they go live.
